Floating down the Colorado River is a great way to relax and get out on the water in the summer. Here are a few tips to make your river float a blast! Start a few minutes river up in Mayflower Park and float down to Arizona Oasis (more details below). This trip will take about 5 hours!

What You’ll Need

Bring your own inner tubes, pick one up from a local store in Blythe or buy one from the Arizona Oasis front desk.

Looking for an extra arm workout? Launch a kayak instead of a tube!

Bring a paddle, or just relax as the current carries you.

Plan Your Floating Trip

Have a friend drop your group off at Mayflower Park (about 15 minutes away from Arizona Oasis on the California side) and begin your float!

Floating down the Colorado River from Mayflower at a leisurely pace will take about 5 hours.

Mayflower has a place to park and launch your water equipment. There is a small fee for parking and launching inter tubes — call the park for the latest info!

Grab a cold drink to stay hydrated and bring easy snacks for munching.

Bring a bag for your trash — don’t let any wrappers get away in the River!

Work on your tan, or put on a hat so you don’t get burned.

Tie your inner tubes together if you want to make sure your party stays together.
